Meals on Wheels

Feeding Hungry Seniors and Keeping Them in Their Homes

Meals on Wheels helps older adults and persons with disabilities in Eastern Iowa meet their daily nutritional needs by delivering hot, fresh, ready-to-eat meals in addition to frozen meals and breakfast bags.

Our clients can receive meals for a short duration while they’re recovering from a hospital stay, as respite care for their family who usually provides meals for them, or on an ongoing basis each weekday.

For home-bound seniors and their family members, the daily meal provides a sense of security knowing someone will be stopping in to check on them Monday through Friday.

COVID-19 Action Steps

Click here to sign up to volunteer with Meals on Wheels during this time of crisis! We have an urgent need for volunteers who are healthy and able to work in our kitchen portioning food on the line, labeling our meals after packaging, and packing meals from 11-1 and 1-4 each weekday!

All Meals on Wheels recipients in Linn and Johnson counties will have seven days' worth of frozen meals delivered to their home each Tuesday or Wednesday depending on where they live. They will also receive shelf live stable foods each Friday upon request.

Help us in collecting personal care items and shelf stable goods to help our most at-risk population stay at home safe and healthy. Please bring the donations Monday through Friday 11 am - 3 pm into the main entrance and leave on the sharing table to the right of the door.
