Nutrition & Wellness Programs

  • Gardening and Fresh Produce Prep – Plant and tend Horizons/Community Gardens, harvest produce and deliver to production kitchen.
  • Summer Meals Volunteers – Serving meals to children at parks, community centers, apartment complexes and mobile home courts over the summer months.

Meals on Wheels

  • Meals on Wheels Drivers – Delivery of hot meals between 11am and 1pm, 5 days a week. Delivery of breakfast bags Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; delivery schedule is flexible.
  • Kitchen Line - Help on the serving line, dish food into home-delivered meal trays, or running the sealing machine, or carrying the hot bags to dock area. Please contact before signing up. Morning hours available.
  • Kitchen Prep - Preparation of cold food items needed for the following day: counting, scooping, cutting. Need is based on menu and staffing.
  • Admin support - Make reminder calls to potential or existing support group members, maintain client files, and any other admin duties as assigned. Confidentiality a must. Flexible availability.
  • Monthly Statement Mailer - Volunteer needed once a month to run 500 mailer through postage machine. Flexible availability. Up to 2 hours per month.
  • Congregate Nutrition Program – Provide educational programming or entertainment to older adults, facilitate activities, assist with meal service and clean-up.
  • Meals on Wheels Produce Prep Worker – Prepare fresh picked produce for use by Meals on Wheels during the spring/summer growing season.

Corporate Adopt-A-Route Program

  • Company employees deliver meals during their lunch hour once a week, once a month, or somewhere in between. Participating companies are seen as a community partners, while building exceptional employee morale and creating better employee communication and team building.

Financial Wellness Center

  • Financial Wellness Support – Answering phones, scheduling appointments, data base maintenance, compiling statistics and surveying clients.
  • Financial Educator – Deliver financial literacy information in the community.

Mental Health & Wellness Services

  • Mental Health Support – Filing, copying and mailings.

Administrative Support

  • Database Management - database experience required, experience with Raiser's Edge preferred

Miscellaneous

  • Building Maintenance
  • Beautification of outside grounds

Special Event Volunteers

  • Lunchbox (in February) – Assist with food preparation, packaging, or delivery for our week-long fundraiser for Meals on Wheels
  • Turkey Trot (in November) – Walk/Run with breakfast being served to raise funds for Horizons programming
  • Holiday Volunteers (in December) – wrap gifts and help with our Santa for Seniors program.

Survivors Volunteers

  • Creating remembrance cards - Create handmade cards. Volunteer responsible for purchasing own supplies (cardstock, ribbons, paper, etc.). Volunteer may work from home. Flexible availability.
  • Mailing & writing message in remembrance cards - Write inspirational notes to grieving individuals and mail on specific dates. All supplies provided. Volunteer may work from home. Confidentiality a must. Flexible availability.
  • Admin support - Make reminder calls to potential or existing support group members, maintain client files, and any other admin duties as assigned. Confidentiality a must. Flexible availability.
  • Make or provide lunches for families of the Survivor Program during trial - Volunteers needed in 13 counties to provide and deliver meals to families during trial. Monday through Friday, dates coincide with trial dates. Trials can last up to 2 weeks.
