Confidentiality of Donors

Horizons treats all information about donors, donor prospects, and donations with the utmost respect and confidentiality. The purpose of this policy is to guide the activities and decisions of Horizons’ staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers.

  • All records associated with such activities relating to personal or financial information about a donor, donor prospect, volunteer, or employee, in the possession of any Horizons staff member, board member, or volunteer are records of Horizons and are confidential.
  • Horizons does not exchange, lend, rent or sell donor lists to third party organizations.
  • The personal information provided when making an online donation or registering for an event will not be disclosed to any unauthorized third parties.
  • When donations are made online, a secure connection is established and information is encrypted. The secure connection is maintained until the transaction is completed or terminated.
  • Employees of Horizons are not permitted to use donor, donor prospect, or donation information for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for the benefit of the agency.
  • If donors provide Horizons with their postal address or email address, they may receive periodic mailings about Horizons and its upcoming events. Individuals may unsubscribe to these emails at any time for any reason by opting out through the link at the bottom of each sent email or by emailing hzfmarketing@horizonsfamily.org.
  • If donors supply their telephone numbers, they may receive telephone contact from Horizons regarding donations or responding to requests about the agency.
