Last Chance for Scholarship to Attend Mental Health First Aid

November 09, 2011
Mental Health First Aid is a 2-day course that educates participants on how to react and respond in an emotional crisis. Following the same concept as physical health first aid, Mental Health First Aid works to teach a layperson the skills needed to successfully support a suffering individual until professional help can step in. Horizons has been able to provide this class to Linn County nonprofits and government agencies via a grant-funded scholarship in 2011.

Due to high-demand and community requests, Horizons been able to schedule one more Mental Health First Aid class this year. The final scholarship-eligible session is December 8 & 9, 2011. Scholarships are limited to first-come-first-serve and will not be available after December. For more information about Mental Health First Aid, or to register, click here.
