iCan
 |
iCan helps families and makes life better for everyone at home, in school and around the community. This is a voluntary, no-fee program for those who receive Medicaid Title 19. This is an opportunity to rebuild and renew.

iCan provides skill-building services to kids and adults with mental health and/or behavioral problems. We are able to provide individual, family, and group skill building, as well as crisis intervention. All the services are voluntary and DHS involvement is not necessary to access iCan services. The program is flexible and we are able to individualize the setting, frequency, duration, and focus of the service to fit each participant’s specific areas of need.
The iCan program offers individual skill building sessions that help develop the skills needed to manage and improve the challenges associated with their mental health concerns. Family sessions provide parents the chance to learn more about their child’s mental health symptoms as well the opportunity to improve their own skills and ability to parent a child with mental health and behavioral concerns. iCan counselors work with clients in the community, eliminating the transportation barrier that inhibits many from accessing needed services.
Those that may benefit from iCan may be struggling with:
- Aggression
- Bullying
- Poor Social Skills
- Excessive Sadness or Worry
- Impulsiveness
- Hyperactivity
- Attention Problems
- Unhealthy Relationships
- Dishonesty
- Poor Self Esteem
- Age Inappropriate Behaviors
Benefits of iCan include:
- iCan skill building can be done in the convenience of your home.
- iCan helps reinforce good behaviors between school and home.
- Each individual receives a personalized assessment plan.
"Our family has used many types of counseling for our adopted daughter, all of which have helped in one way or another. It wasn't until we found Horizons that the missing link was found. We have been so blessed with our iCan worker who has been an advocate for our daughter at school. She has kept us both informed and educated with our daughter's trouble and progress in school. She has always been there for us and we are so thankful for her and this agency!" - Mark & Glenda Cook
